The Aulos Ensemble, formed by five graduates of The Juilliard School, has been garnering the attention of music lovers for more than thirty-five years. A New York Times critic describes the ensemble’s imaginative programs as “authentic Baroque performance at its best.” The ensemble—flutist Christopher Krueger, oboist Marc Schachman, violinist Linda Quan, cellist Myron Lutzke, and harpsichordist Arthur Haas—performs a program featuring George Frideric Handel’s Water Music and other works. The Penn State School of Music Baroque Ensemble, directed by Associate Professor Robert Nairn, joins the Aulos Ensemble to perform the three suites of Water Music, which premiered in 1717 when England’s King George I requested a concert on the River Thames.
